Meet the Team

Tara Shaw

Clinical Coordinator

Tara, a birth doula in the Jackson Metro area, has always been passionate about women and reproductive health. However, her interest grew after conducting a research project on women and their birth stories during her undergraduate studies at Mississippi College and after the birth of her first daughter. She is now pursuing her dream of becoming a midwife while continuing to help families during their pregnancy and birth journeys. Despite her professional accomplishments, her favourite title is still "Mommy."

Tara is happily married to her husband, Brandon, and they have two children.

Whitney Hollingsworth

Midwife's Assistant & Childbirth Educator

In 2015, Whitney gave birth to her first child and in many ways- life was never the same again. Her first birth experience opened her eyes to a passion and calling of serving women through their childbearing years. In 2018, she became a DONA certified birth doula and has served as a birth doula and educator to many expecting families throughout the Pine Belt area. Supporting families is truly a precious work and Whitney finds it a great privilege to have the opportunity to come alongside families as they navigate that process.

Whitney has been married to her husband Dustin for 10 years and together they have four children.

Glenda Martin

Midwife's Assistant & Birth Doula

When Glenda was pregnant with her first baby, she and her husband, David, felt led by the Lord to research home birth. This was definitely a step of faith for them, since they did not know anyone else who had birthed at home but God provided them with the support they needed. Now after birthing all five of their  babies at home, both David and Glenda are huge advocates of midwifery care and they love to encourage couples to explore alternative birth options. Glenda believes that the Lord has a beautiful design for birth and she feels honored to help couples walk through it.

Glenda has been married to her husband, David, for 19 years, and she homeschools her five children. She is currently pursuing Birth Doula Certification with DONA International.

Madison Sutton, RN

Midwife's Assistant & Mother/Baby Nurse

Madison knew from a young age that she wanted to be a birth worker in some capacity. After the birth of her first child in 2022, the Lord grew her passion for childbirth and helping postpartum women. Madison graduated from William Carey University with a degree in Nursing and Intercultural Studies. She and her husband plan to serve on missions for women and children cross culturally in the future. In the present, Madison loves serving families in the Hattiesburg community alongside Amanda and the Hattiesburg Midwifery team and also working on the postpartum unit. Her favorite part about home birth is seeing how women gain strength and newfound confidence in the Lord through their labors.

Brandi Thompson, LPN

Student Midwife & Placenta Specialist

After the birth of her second child in 2010, Brandi knew that there was a better way to have children. This thrusted her into learning all she could about how to support women in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum which eventually compounded into a doula certification from Childbirth International in 2013. She is also a LPN and placenta encapsulation specialist serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Since then, Brandi has had 3 midwife assisted births with 2 of them being at home. She finds that God used home birth to draw her closer to Him therefore being able to draw others closer to Him!

Brandi has been with her husband Brian for 12 years and together they have 7 children. She homeschools the younger 5.

After helping several friends with their labors and deliveries, Emily knew the Lord was leading her to pursue birth work as a career.
